When it comes to the formative years of a new organization, such as the Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority, there are quite a few parallels to the early years of a child. Both require us to pass through these years with courage, while building credibility and maturity. Moreover, the early years in both worlds can be challenging and rewarding at the same time.
We also often hear “it takes a village to raise a child,” and this can similarly said of an organization striving to achieve its ambitious vision. In 2021, through initiatives such as Athar, the World Early Childhood Development Movement, Anjal Z , Parent’s Platform, the development of parental resources, the Parent-friendly Label and others we continued to promote local and international collaboration to address the needs of Abu Dhabi’s young children.
To reach our goals will require us to work hand-in-hand.
This year, we continued to witness our partners reinforce the foundations and we progressed together in our goals for the ECD Sector by strengthening the child protection system, kicking off the Integrated Early Childhood Intervention System project, nurturing and enhancing the role of ECD sector workforce, rolling out professional development programs and furthering research.
Just as one can’t rush the milestones of a growing child, you cannot rush an organization’s milestones. We believe that to reach our goals will take time.
From conception to birth to each developmental milestone, we are committed for the long haul for Abu Dhabi’s young children.
